Springfield 1903 PICS … He WILL come along if it really looks as good as it does in the pictures. Forget what the collectors say but treat it as a hunting tool that is beautiful. … IMO, depending on bore condition, and whether there is 2 groove or 4 groove rifling, I guess I’d put the value up to the $250 to $300 range.

If you plan to shoot it, it may be easier to find a 1903A3 with a better bore than a 1903 due to the corrosive ammo possible used in eary specimens of the latter. I personally prefer the aperture sight setup of the A3 model, but also prefer the milled floorplate, triggerguard, buttplate, etc of the 1903. I plan to pick up one either this winter

The U.S. Model 1903 Springfield was a beautiful, beautifully-made rifle that performed even better than it looked.
