Jan 11, 2024Subject to any continuance granted pursuant to Rule 7 (b), a judgment for the plaintiff shall be entered forthwith if the defendant fails to appear for trial or is not prepared to proceed to trial and the plaintiff does appear, or if the defendant withdraws the claim of appeal.

You can recover up to $7,500 in a Massachusetts small claims court. If you’d like to recover more, you must go to a higher court.
